Cavarino pig department started with three in-pig sows and later on a boar. This has
overtime evolved to a herd of over 85 sows and 20 gilts. With a goal to produce good quality
pork for human consumption we have invested in high quality breeds. Cavarino farm has Four
major breeds; Large white, Landrace, Maxgro and Duroc, together with their crosses. From the
first two breeds we have quality gilts from superior maternal lines that we use within the farm
and also sell to pig farmers for breeding. Revenue for the farm also comes in from the sale of
finisher baconers. Additionally, we also raise quality breeding boars for sale to farmers.
